The Tri-County Regional School Board was officially formed in August of 2004 when the Government of Nova Scotia formed two separate Boards out of the former Southwest Regional School Board, one of which is the Tri-County Regional School Board. The Tri-County Regional School Board serves the 62,000 people of Digby, Yarmouth and Shelburne counties, located at the south-western tip of the Province of Nova Scotia.
The Tri-County Regional School Board serves the students in its care and takes our motto seriously: We attempt to have every student reach their full potential and really do put students first.
Mission Statement: The NSISP is commited to creating global citizens by promoting intercultural understanding and increased international education opportunities for Nova Scotian students and students from arounf the world.
Created by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and the seven English language school boards, the NSISP has grown to be one of the lasrgest secondary school programs in Canada. The idea consisted on having one of the most diverse international student cohorts in Canada, in which the international students would bring different perspectives to the schools and communities. In the end, these students not only learn English, but also obtain a Nova Scotia education and get to experience life in Nova Scotia. At the same time Nova Scotian students and families get the opportunity to understand other cultures, which benefits a globalized world.
